Secrets behind the MAXX-WAXX, Maxiglide XC and BoatGuard SPF-50
The real purposes behind treating skis, boards and even polishing a boat hull is to seal the surface from dirt, water, ice, pollutants and lubricate surface for expected performance. Some of the same principals apply here as with our lubricating oils. Static attracts dirt, snow, water, etc., so that must be eliminated. Product should be compatible with plastic surfaces such as P-Tex or fiberglass, allowing for best performance as conditions such as temperatures and humidity changes. And as a bonus, if the product is very easy to use and understand, we should have a winner.
The static factor is treated chemically as with our lubricating oils. Using a similar treatment our PTFE fluorocarbons are reduced to sub-micron size and molecularly combined with plastique molecules, making the “active” part of the formulation now very similar to the P–Tex base and therefore compatible. So now as the P-Tex changes due to changes in the environment, our coatings change similarly. With conventional waxes, they are heated and become a solid when cooled, perhaps suitable for a given snow condition, but if this condition changes now the wax must be changed. With Maxiglide our coating remains liquid as it is absorbed into the base to which it is compatible, sealing out dirt, snow and ice and providing long-lasting glide.
And since our Maxiglide coatings are simply rubbed on, they can be used by anyone. Often imitated, yet to be duplicated. These coatings produce no fumes, use no solvents and are non-flammable.
